Golden Nugget MS Charity Poker
About a week ago an MS Charity Poker Tournament took place at the Golden Nugget Casino in Las Vegas. This tournament was hosted by Montel Williams this year. This event was for the benefit of the Montel Williams MS Foundation. It took place at the pavilion of the Golden Nugget and it was the first event of a long series. The series of tournaments for the charity are called "The Grand".
There were 60 players who donated $1,080 each to play the charity event. Between the players, there were also some professionals like Phil Laak, Jamie Gold, Jennifer Tilly and others. The highlight of the evening was a present from the Poker Operations Manager to the MS Foundation. This gift consisted in $25,000 and Montel Williams couldn’t believe it, he was really moved.

The tournament had its first winner after 6 hours, a 29 year old guy from London, England called Matthew May and he won $8,400. He was in the States for vacation and by chance he decided to try his luck, passing by the Las Vegas Casino. Montel got to know many people diagnosed with the MS disease over the years.

There could never be a more dedicate ambassador for the fight against MS as Montel Williams. His Foundation directs its research towards new treatments and drugs and possibilities to make it available for everyone. Montel wants to try everything until a cure is found.
